What does the ‘CIO’ in ‘Climb CIO’ stand for?

Climb is a charity registered in England and Wales, and the ‘CIO’ stands for ‘Charitable Incorporated Organisation’, an incorporated structure used by charities.

How is Climb licensed to operate?

Climb is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (‘AALA’), licence number L111416.

Does Climb provide all necessary climbing equipment?

Yes! We can provide all climbing equipment, including climbing shoes, harnesses and helmets. However, if you have it, we recommend you use your own equipment, especially climbing shoes. We do not provide clothing, so please make sure you are suitably dressed for the conditions.

Can I just turn up and climb?

No! We have limited places and require completed consent forms before any climbing takes place, so please contact us first.

How do I book on a course?

Please email us with details of the course you would like to do, and any questions you may have. We will get you booked on, send you the joining instructions and a link to the consent form.

How do I refer someone to one of your courses?

Please email us the name and age of the person you would like to refer, details of why you want to refer them, and which course you want to refer them to. We will reply and agree the best way forward with you.

Is there a cost?

The majority of what we do is free, although you will need to cover your own third party costs such as wall entry fees, travel or accommodation. We do ask for a contribution for our Mountain Training courses, and more details are given on 'Our Prices’ page.
